TOKYO DAY TWO: Sunny Shiny Tokyo~遇見韓申甫日~

The weather report said Monday is a sunny shiny day. It is. When the gentle breeze comes over my face, I think I was in heaven. At the same time of last Monday, I was working in office. Today is totally different: wake up late and then have brunch at Chelsea café (Note 1)! I order Lady’s lunch set, California. The special flavor of grain rice spread spawn and avocado on it is so tasty. I could not help finishing it.

On the Street

What surprises me is the cool shop design with harmonious match found everywhere. For example, the color combination of Adidas’ advertisement wall and its triangle cone is blue and white based on an overall design concept. The best way to enjoy a new city is walk at a brisk walking pace, I do believe.

On the Way to Meiji jingo (
明治神宮)

The arrival time at Meiji jingo is around half past 1. Why does it so long? Well, we are in the opposite direction toward Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium since we are negligent of the route. Ian just takes lots of pictures and I just maintain the same pace. But it is such of fun without destination. Kind of life, you drift anywhere even you have set the destination.

We like the evergreen forest in Meiji jingo. I can breathe fresh air under the shade of trees. Honestly, we do not have particular feelings toward Emperor Meiji since he is the man who launched wars against
China. Sorry, history again. No offense.

Passed by crowded 竹下通, we begin hunt for shopping. A long queue Forever 21 indicates Japanese younger culture: the pursuit of fashion. They are willing to wait. It’s crazy for me. Ian gets a pair of paints, a T-shirt, and a jacket in H&M, next to Forever 21.

Evening Party
Held at Ikebukuro(
池袋)

Around 6 p.m., we shift to Ikebukuro(池袋), where to meet Han, Ian’s university classmate, a language genius, who works in international student office in WasedaUniversity (早稻田).

Bar 22

Our first step is Izakaya(居酒屋), named Bar 22 (Note 2) popular among the locals. The gathering is hilarious. Han is a funny guy makes me laughing all the time. Plum wine mixed Sake is a good try with 燒き鳥. Is that all?

An English Pub- Hub

Of course not, show your pub crawl spirit in UK, Ingrid! Next step, Hub (Note 3)! What we have ordered in my memory is posted on Itinerary; the else I cannot remember clearly. My drink, Hard type ranking 4, Tarantula, with 30° alcohol makes me a little tipsy. If you have met Ian before, then, you would know we haven’t finished yet. Ian has four stomachs.

-めん屋-なんつッ亭

なんつッ亭(Note 4) is quite famous -めん屋on the ranking. I only can say, おいしいですThick taste with sesame oil mix garlic, ギョーザ is delicious as well. What a wonderful night we have. Thanks, Han. Next time, show us more stylish place, Ginza (銀座).

<Hope the see you soon, Han >
